This combined pool of knowledge extends from everything about the first ‘lowlights’ through all of the years of the type 14, the type 34’s and even into the world of the Karmann Ghia TC.
Prevention is better than cure, so create your car a service schedule. Many basic servicing tasks that you may be able to perform yourself, such changing the oil and spark plugs. You may also be surprised how easy it is to perform slightly more advanced tasks such as changing gearbox oil or setting the timing.
Bear in mind you’ll need plenty of time, patience and a set of basic tools to carry out most work.
The club has had permission to reproduce some of the original bodywork owners’ manuals which include the both the type 14 coupe and convertible as well as the type 34. We also have a techy tips publication to help keep your car on the road. These are available to buy in the shop.
